Designing with Light: Create Your Own Ceramic Lamp
A hands-on weekend for people who love ceramics, design, and light. Across two focused days, you’ll conceive and craft a ceramic lamp from the ground up—as a complete object, both aesthetically and technically. We’ll kick off with an accessible intro to lighting basics and electrical components, handle real samples (cables, bulbs, lamp holders) and run live light tests. Then you’ll sketch your idea and move straight into clay. On Sunday we’ll continue building and, if it suits your piece, finish with slip decoration. We won’t do electrical assembly during the course, but you’ll learn exactly how to complete it afterwards.
Who it’s for
Anyone curious about ceramic making and lighting—no prior experience required. Small group (max. 8) for plenty of one-to-one guidance.
Tutors
Núria Carrascal (throughout the course) with Oriol Pinell joining for the first three hours on Saturday.
