Barcelona Weekend Ceramics Experience

We have prepared these weekend intensive courses for you to make a weekend getaway and have an unforgettable experience. No previous experience is necessary to enjoy it!

During the morning of Saturday and Sunday you will learn and experiment with ceramics and in the afternoon you will be able to enjoy everything that the city of Barcelona has to offer to you. You can choose between two types of courses according to your preferences. Intensive wheel trhowing course and intensive handbuilding course. With Wheel Throwing course you will acquire the skills and knowledge required to be able to begin throwing on the wheel by yourself. On the other hand, Hand-building  is the foundation of ceramics, and is considered to be the best way to begin learning about clay as a material, individually or accompanied by friends, partner or family, and offer a wide range of creativity, using only your hands, fingers, and simple tools to make organic, geometrical, functional, or large-scale sculptural forms. Regardless of your course choice, you are going to have a different and unforgettable weekend. One last tip: Bring comfortable clothes because we are going to get dirty!

Hanbuilding Experience dates 2021:

In our ceramics school in Barcelona we have all the necessary equipment to carry out our courses and so that you can experiment with all the existing techniques:

  • Latest design of Shimpo Whisper T wheels, a high power and completely silent electric wheel.
  • High temperature clay (Stoneware).
  • Non-toxic glazes, suitable for daily use of functional pieces for the home or restaurant.
  • School and facilities provide lots of natural light and a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
  • Facilities include a large table for hand building, slab roller, spray booth, wedging area, glazing area, and a 300 litre Nabertherm Kiln. Firings, materials and use of tools are included in the price of intensive courses.
  • And especially your hands and desire to learn!

Why not take a few vacation days or a few days off to do a ceramic course in a different place?

With our Week Wheel Throwing Course you will have the opportunity to spend 4 days in the mornig, from Monday to Thursday dedicated to learning ceramics wheel throwing, deepening and going further in your knowledge about ceramics and wheel throwing, and frree afternoons to enjoy the city of Barcelona. With our teaching methodology based on a “step-by-step technical approach” designed entirely by our school director, award-winning British artist Corrie Bain no previous experience is necessary to enroll in our courses. Take a break and dedicate the time it deserves to your passion for ceramics!

4 days: From Monday to Thursday from 10am to 15pm.
